LOW COST THERAPY CIC

WEBSITE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of this website and services provided by Low Cost Therapy CIC and partnership with North London Therapy Practice (“the CIC”, “we”, “our”, “us”).

By accessing this website, submitting an enquiry, or booking a session, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

1. ABOUT LOW COST THERAPY CIC

Low Cost Therapy CIC is a Community Interest Company established to increase access to affordable psychological and therapeutic support.

The service connects clients with therapists who may include:

  • trainee therapists

  • qualified counsellors

  • qualified psychotherapists

  • psychologists

  • other wellbeing practitioners

Some practitioners may be in training and working under professional supervision as part of accredited training programmes.

Therapists working through the CIC may operate as:

  • volunteers

  • trainees

  • independent practitioners

  • supervised professionals

All therapists are required to maintain appropriate supervision arrangements and to work within recognised ethical frameworks.

2. RELATIONSHIP WITH NORTH LONDON THERAPY PRACTICE

Low Cost Therapy CIC may deliver services from premises operated by North London Therapy Practice.

North London Therapy Practice provides:

  • therapy rooms

  • administrative support

  • booking infrastructure

However, North London Therapy Practice does not provide the therapy service itself unless explicitly stated.

Therapeutic services arranged through the Low Cost Therapy service are provided by practitioners working through Low Cost Therapy CIC and partnership with North London Therapy Practice.

3. PURPOSE OF THE LOW COST SERVICE

Low Cost Therapy CIC aims to provide therapy that is financially accessible to individuals who may otherwise struggle to afford private therapy.

Fees are intentionally reduced to support accessibility.

Because of the reduced fee structure:

  • therapist availability may be limited

  • waiting lists may apply

  • continuity with a specific therapist cannot always be guaranteed

  • services may sometimes be time-limited

4. THERAPIST STATUS

Therapists working through Low Cost Therapy CIC may include trainee therapists completing professional training programmes.

Trainee therapists typically:

  • work under regular supervision

  • follow the ethical framework of their training body

  • are required to discuss aspects of their work in supervision

This means that clinical work may be discussed anonymously with supervisors for training and safeguarding purposes.

5. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOME

Therapy can be beneficial for many people but results vary between individuals.

Low Cost Therapy CIC cannot guarantee:

  • a particular outcome

  • that therapy will resolve specific issues

  • that therapy will meet every client’s expectations

Participation in therapy is voluntary and clients remain responsible for their own decisions and actions.

6. BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

Appointments may be arranged through:

  • the website

  • online booking systems

  • email enquiry

  • referral forms

  • administrative staff

Appointments are typically 50 minutes unless otherwise specified.

Clients may be placed on a waiting list depending on demand.

7. FEES

Low Cost Therapy CIC provides reduced-fee therapy.

Fees may vary depending on:

  • the therapist

  • the service offered

  • the financial circumstances of the client

Fees may be adjusted periodically to maintain sustainability of the service.

Clients are expected to pay the agreed session fee unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed.

8. PAYMENT

Payment may be required:

  • at the time of booking

  • in advance of each session

  • immediately after each session

Failure to make payment when required may result in suspension of appointments.

9. CANCELLATION POLICY

Low Cost Therapy CIC operates a strict 48-hour cancellation policy.

Minimum notice

Clients must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Late cancellations

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.

Missed appointments

If a client does not attend a scheduled session, the full session fee may be charged.

Reason for this policy

Even though the service is low cost, the appointment time is reserved specifically for you and cannot usually be offered to another client at short notice.

Repeated cancellations or missed appointments may result in therapy being discontinued.

10. LATE ARRIVAL

If a client arrives late:

  • the session will still end at the scheduled time

  • the full session fee remains payable

11. ATTENDANCE AND ENGAGEMENT

Because the service operates with limited therapist availability and often has waiting lists, clients are expected to attend regularly.

If a client repeatedly cancels sessions, misses appointments, or disengages from therapy, the CIC may withdraw the allocated therapy space and offer it to another client.

12. CONFIDENTIALITY

Therapists are bound by professional ethical codes requiring confidentiality.

However confidentiality may be broken where necessary, including:

  • risk of serious harm to the client or another person

  • safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

  • legal obligations such as court orders

  • professional supervision requirements

Information discussed in therapy may be anonymised and discussed with a supervisor for professional development and safeguarding purposes.

13. EMERGENCIES

Low Cost Therapy CIC does not provide crisis services.

The service is not appropriate for emergency mental health situations.

If you require urgent support you should contact:

  • NHS 111 for urgent mental health help

  • 999 in an emergency

  • Samaritans (116 123)
